HISTORY

was built 1947 at the famous Dutch shipyard Van Der Stadt in Amsterdam.

Thalatta successfully competed in the 1952 Olympics in Helsinki. The picture shows Thalatta winning the first race.

The yacht was fully reconstructed and updated for racing in Holland during the nineties.

In November 2011 Thalatta was bought by Thomas Tillbert and Paul Jennings and moved to Palma with the help of active members of the "Classic Dragons of Mallorca" to Palma.

Thalatta seems to enjoy racing actively again even if she this year turns 65 years old ! Many years on the canals in Holland has kept her young but the Mediterranean will be a challenge. The "Old Lady" is however surprisingly competitive and can actually give much younger dragons a hard time!

After being registered in Holland as Dragon 130, today Thalatta is registered in Spain and racing under Spanish flag as ESP 13, a classic number which is believed to bring luck!
